No bells—no warning
Life should be spent questioning as much as you can
People are peaceful—groups are warring
Win or lose you are required to make a stand

Why do I have to select this side or that
There are those of us out here who want neither
They paint the world in white and black
As if to conclude their way is easier

I know—I have been there
Trying to fall asleep in the middle of a war-torn land
I am not saying life should be fair
I’m just asking why tear it down when it could be grand

None can say for sure what comes next
Maybe we will get another chance
The north, the south, the east, and the west
Every day, every moment—the same deadly dance
